Italiano at DLF Cyber Hub

Italiano, situated in DLF Cyber Hub Gurgaon, serves Italian food with an accent on comfort food.

Cyber Hub is home for all working men and women who have been enjoying places to eat and drink almost every day. This time I decided to get a taste of it too..

On any given day, setting foot in this arcade and deciding where to dine, is a task in itself. Thank God! I was here for a bloggers meet.

Ambience --

The interiors are earthy with brick walls and other knick knacks like cages, jars and slogans which makes it look off beat. The lamps and paintings gives it an added advantage. Outdoor seating is best during winter months.

Urban Pind - Re defined and how

Delhi's popular party destination since 2010 is back in a new avatar. Lot of Urban fun in a desi style. Its big, better and with a new address.

Ambiance --

Spread across 3 floors, the restaurant is ideal to enjoy food in good weather conditions. Earthy colors from brown, beige to fawn make you feel warm.
The walls are eye catching, fashionable, colorful and unusual with Superman logo and Psychedelic art. The vibe is more of a pub than a restaurant but still it will get you tripping.

Cafe Hawkers

Located in the heart of the city, Connaught Place, Cafe Hawkers should be on your "wishlist".

The minute I entered, the cafe gave me a magnetic feel. You will spend time looking around and observe the quirky stuff they have on their walls.

Ambiance --

The cafe is divided on two floors and beautifully done. The walls have paintings with ample amount of light thrown at them to catch the eye. Some tables have grass mats under the glass and the same grass was used as a padding on the walls. There were hanging jars with birds inside. Scriptures and cartoon art on one side and rainbow colored wooden planks on the other.
The upper floor is interesting too. Rolling pin used as a curtain caught my attention. It was captivating and innovative. I remember mentioning my foodie gang, how much I loved the ambiance of the place. Their style of designing the cafe, is spacious, stylish and quite inviting.

Beetroot Health Benefits and Dip Recipe

How often is Beetroot included in your diet / meal? This vegetable is well known in many Indian households. Not only does it act as a natural food color, it has various other properties, you will be surprised!

Beetroot can be consumed in the form of salad, juice and halwa. But what is the truth about this vegetable? Let us read further ..

Health Benefits --
  • Lowers blood pressure levels - Beetroot is a rich source of nitrates. When consumed it widens the arteries and lowers blood pressure. Research also says when consumed 500 gms everyday, a person's blood pressure reduces in about six hours.

Water Chestnut ki Sabzi (Singhare)

Nutrient - rich water chestnuts need only a culinary imagination. Succulent, slightly crunchy and delicately sweet, water chestnuts are munched raw, seasoned or sauteed and even ground to make flour. This last quality makes it a favourite among those living in the Northern India who abstain from cereals during religious fasts. The flour (Singhare ka atta) is staple in many households during the October - November festive season.

Puris, sabzi and a sweet meat called Katle are some popular items made from water chestnut flour.

Product Review : Cook Gourmet (Cooking made easy)

I saw a Recipe on the Internet, went shopping for the ingredients, came home, started cooking - All geared up in my apron and a chef's hat. Yet, I did not get the proportions correct and failed to please my parents palate. A common tiresome mistake / disaster we all experience while cooking. Right?

This is exactly when 'Cook Gourmet' contacted and asked me to place an order for their Magical Box. Co-incidence or did they read my mind? I have been searching for boxes that are fully equipped with the correct Ingredients, Recipe and Proportions.

What is Cook Gourmet?

The interiors are elegant, walls have artistic paintings. Each table has a small grill section, which when not in use, is covered by a wooden frame.

Food Talk --

I was here with a group of food bloggers and we decided to sit on the second level of the restaurant. Buffet usually is placed on this floor. So, as soon as one is seated, the servers hand you the menu to order a refreshing drink. Lemon Mojito, was the only drink I could think of to freshen me up from the humidity that day.

Soon when everyone arrived, we started with the Grilled Items and few Drinks from the Menu. The Names of the Items, Description, Ratings and Pictures are enlisted below :-
  • The Grilled appetizers have a good variety. Fish - Flavorsome and had right spices. Even though it was not fried, yet had a balance of spices. Kebabs - Minced meat, were interesting. Murg Malai Tikka - Chicken Tikka, delicious and a melt in your mouth. I am sure with the Non Vegetarian being so good, the Vegetarians also must have enjoyed their offerings. Rating - 4.5/5
  • Virgin Mojito - Served in a small slim glass. Mint and citrus flavor is all you need to freshen you up on a hot summer day. Rating 4/5
  • Mai Tai - A mix of white and dark rum in orange, pineapple with some grenadine. Grenadine makes the the cocktail extra sweet. Rating 3.5/5

Among the Indian, were two items from the Chinese menu ; Noodles and Manchurian, which is normally enjoyed by kids. I enjoyed Subz Methi Pulao, bitterness of methi mixed well with rice. Both Dal Tadka and Dal Makhani, were light, not very creamy and the spices were apt. Kadhai Paneer, Khumb Hara Pyaz were well cooked. I had two servings of the buffet and my tummy was full.
  • Biryani - A small pot of biryani was placed at the table. It had small meat balls with little cheese. Made from the in house spices, Biryani, here is a winner.

  • Gulab Jamun - Soft and Juicy. A perfect dessert. Rating 5/5
